Today, I decided to write a story about Korea's traditional foods.
First, the very popular Kimchi. Long ago, Koreans made Kimchi without hot peppers. Because in at that time, hot pepper did not existed exist in Korea. People just pickled the vegetables so it could last longer. That's the start of Kimchi when the pepper exported from China, Koreans started to make Kimchi with hot pepper. These days, many people favors Kimchi because it has many vitamin C in it and is very nutritive.
The second food, I'm going to write about is snacks. Not many years from now, there wasn't weren't many various kinds of snacks that we eat nowadays in Korea. So children ate rice cakes and patterned savory cakes.
These treats were used in the feast for the ancestors and for festive days. People made rice cakes out of rice. (Of course) They used a mill to ground grind the rice grains into power. Then, we mixed in water and various kinds of ingredients. Dates and sorts of stuff. If making a steamed rice cake, we don't mix water. We just steam It. Now for the patterned savory cake. I like these this stuff because it's very savory. But in my opinion. If we eat too much of these, we get bored. But, It's very easy to make.
Thank you, Dianne! ^_^
