A nuclear plant in Fukushima, Japan, was struck by an earthquake and tsunami. Because of that, some of the reactors were overheated because the water pumps cooling the reactors were damaged by the tsunami. Some radiation leaked from the plant, and every robot that went to picture the damage, including the 'Scorpion' broke down. Radiation both affects humans and robots as a bad way, but it affects them differently. For humans, radiation can increase the chance of getting a cancer. For robots, radiation can damage their important wires.
